Qualicum Beach Project
What began as a dated 1970s home in Qualicum Beach is now a bright, functional retreat designed for family living and aging in place. Our clients purchased the property knowing it needed a full transformation, and the first priority was rethinking the choppy, disconnected layout.
We redesigned the floor plan to create a spacious family kitchen, an open-concept dining and living area, a theatre room, and two large bedroom suites with adjoining bathrooms. To ensure accessibility for years to come, we raised the sunken mudroom and theatre room floors—allowing seamless movement throughout the single-level home.
For the interiors, the brief was “casual, family-friendly, and easy to maintain.” We delivered on that with durable materials, warm finishes, and thoughtful details, including a small home office tucked off the kitchen and a fully revamped powder room, laundry, and mudroom. The result is a welcoming, practical home tailored to both everyday life and future needs.
