Located in North Vancouver, this large-scale addition and renovation by Lindsay Eby Interiors, a Vancouver interior designer specializing in luxury residential interiors, reimagines a well-loved family home—expanding both its functionality and its capacity for gathering and everyday living.

The homeowners had long appreciated the home where their family had grown, but were ready to move beyond the limitations of a narrow, purely practical kitchen. By extending the front of the split-level home, the design introduces a spacious new kitchen and a more functional entry, tailored for a family that loves to welcome guests.

The resulting traditional Shaker-style kitchen features a large-scale commercial range, built-in refrigeration, and sleek white cabinetry. A dedicated dry-goods pantry and integrated features—including a cozy bench seat for reading and a built-in desk—create a space that is both highly functional and deeply connected to daily life.

In the adjacent dining area, vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams add height and architectural presence. A built-in bar anchors the space, complete with a brick feature wall, floating shelves, beverage fridge, sink, wine storage, and custom drawers for liquor—supporting effortless entertaining.

Layered lighting, including library-style art lights throughout the kitchen, introduces warmth and character, while a custom entrance railing with locally sourced wrought-iron spindles adds a final crafted detail.
