Wall Street Condo

When the goal is transforming a small, tired space into a home that is both more beautiful and more functional, you must consider every detail, from floor to ceiling--especially when the designer is also the client. This Vancouver condo saw its floors removed and replaced, kitchen cabinets and bulkheads pulled out and upgraded, and new lighting added everywhere from the bathroom to the closets. A custom slatted-wood ceiling, box-style vent hood, and dramatic full-height mosaic backsplash elevate this space out of standard condo territory. The bronze mirrored backsplash adds depth to the kitchen and reflects the natural light from outside. Full-length drapery creates the illusion of higher ceilings, and new appliances give this modestly scaled but spacious-feeling place everything you would expect from a much larger home.

“As a designer my life’s work has been creating beautiful spaces for other people. Although I have done many small renos for my personal homes in the past. This was the first opportunity to do a full gut and start with a clean slate allowing for a design tailored to all my needs. Now my home feels like a true sanctuary. A place where I can feel at peace with everything in its place.”
